The typescript copy of extracts from the logbook of the ship Margaret details a shipping voyage to the Queen Charlotte Islands, B.C., Jan.-May 1792. The ship's owners included Thomas and James Lamb, Eleazar Johnson, Thomas H. Perkins, James Magee, and Russell Sturgis; the master was Magee. The logbook includes references to butterflies, turtles, and albatrosses seen during the voyage; diseases (illnesses) on board; shipboard occupations; indigenous peoples encountered; fishing; equipment and supplies, specifically provisions, aboard the ship; and a list of the merchant mariners on board. During its voyage, the Margaret spoke the sloop Adventure and the ship Columbia out of Boston.
